Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Human Capital Development Inc. ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information submitted through ceocadence.com, including when you purchase a book from us. We operate this site in compliance with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) and applicable Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA).

Information We Collect

Forms. When you submit your email address through a form on this site, we collect that email address and the date of submission. We may also collect your name and the reason for your inquiry if you provide them through the contact form.

Purchases. When you buy a book through our online store, we collect your name, email address, shipping address, billing address (where required), the items you ordered, and any inscription text you provide. Payment is processed by Stripe; we do not see or store your full card number.

We do not collect any other personal information automatically.

How We Use Your Information

Email addresses submitted through the notification form are used to let you know about the book's availability, launch events, and related updates from David Johnston and CEO Cadence. Email addresses submitted through the contact form are used to respond to your inquiry. Purchase information is used to fulfill and ship your order, send you an order confirmation and tracking details, answer questions about your order, and meet our tax and accounting obligations. We do not use your information for any other purpose without your express consent.

Express Consent

By submitting your email address through a form on this site, you provide express consent to receive the specific communication described on that form. By completing a purchase, you consent to receive transactional emails about that order (confirmation, shipping, and support). Book buyers may also be invited, by email, to join the CEO Cadence reader list; that invitation is optional and you may decline or unsubscribe at any time. You may withdraw consent at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email you receive from us, or by contacting us directly at david@ceocadence.com.

Service Providers

We use the following third-party providers, each acting as a data processor on our behalf under their own privacy policies: Stripe (stripe.com/privacy) for payment processing, order records, and checkout pages; HubSpot (hubspot.com/legal/privacy-policy) for contact management of form submissions; MailerLite (mailerlite.com/legal/privacy-policy) for email delivery to the reader list; and Canada Post and other carriers, which receive your name and shipping address to deliver your order. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party.

Data Retention

Notification and reader-list contacts are retained until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Contact form submissions are retained for as long as necessary to address the inquiry and any follow-up, after which they are deleted. Order records (name, address, items, and amounts) are retained for seven years as required by Canadian tax law, then deleted.

Cookies and Tracking

This site does not use cookies, tracking pixels, or analytics scripts. Stripe's checkout pages set cookies that are necessary for fraud prevention and completing your payment; see Stripe's cookie policy for details.

Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of any personal information we hold about you, subject to legal retention requirements for order records. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at david@ceocadence.com. We will respond within 30 days.
